According to a Bloomberg report, the United Arab Emirates is considering a plan to streamline the visa process for its neighboring Gulf nations, including Qatar.
While citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can currently move across borders without visas, foreign residents often encounter visa requirements when crossing GCC boundaries.
As per Bloomberg’s information, UAE Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri announced at a conference in Abu Dhabi on September 26, 2023, that a new visa system is under consideration. This proposed system would grant foreign residents of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia the freedom to travel unrestrictedly within the GCC member countries. Minister Al Marri further indicated that this proposal will be formally introduced “in the near future.”
