Please note that the schengen visa fee is called non- fundable Mandatory visa fee every applicant should pay.
Schengen visa total depends on the Age and type of the visa the applicant applying and few other exceptions stated below. Generally, the visa fees can be paid via Cash or Debit card or Credit Card in the designated Consulates or embassy but few consulates will not accept credit card.
The Cost of the Schengen visa include the visa fees payable at corresponding consulate or embassy while applying.

*** The visa fee would be calculated in US Dollar as per the current rate of exchange and it may be changed as per the exchange rate without notice.
There few categories which are exempted from paying this amount as exceptional cases but in general these fees are static and not changeable until member of schengen decided to change.
If the Non-profit Companies organizes any cultural, educational, sports events, conference and seminars, the participants whose age is 25 years or less then the schengen visa fees would be waived off. This decision will be vary from case by case as per the relevancy of the event or conference.
