Documents required for profession change
To change your profession, the following documents are necessary:
From the Employer:
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) permitting the profession change.
- A copy of the Qatar ID belonging to the authorized signatory.
- Copies of company documents such as Company Registration (CR), municipality certificate/license, and computer card.
- A copy of the office electricity bill.
- Three copies of the new labour contract, indicating the revised profession, signed by both parties, and the authorized person.
From the Employee, the following documents are required:
- A copy of the Qatar ID and Passport.
- Copies of academic qualifications, attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with their certified Arabic translation.
- Previous labour contract.
- Six-month salary statement, along with a detailed salary bank statement.
- A duly filled Application form.
Procedure to apply for profession change
To apply for a profession change online, follow these instructions:
- Visit the MADLSA website.
- Select “E-Services and E-Forms” from the “Services” menu, and choose the “Recruitment” Department.
- Select “Profession Amendment Request” and click on “Apply” on the service page.
- Enter the necessary details such as Establishment Number, QID, and mobile number, which should be registered with the same QID.
- Tick the reCaptcha checkbox, and then click on “Submit”. The information entered on this page will be verified.
After your data is verified, you will receive a text message containing a verification code on the mobile number you provided. Enter the verification code into the appropriate field.
Fill in the necessary information in the application form.
- Attach the copies of the documents mentioned in the ‘Documents required for profession change’ section.
- Tick the checkbox to indicate that you certify that all the information provided is accurate, and you accept responsibility for any discrepancies found.
- Submit your request.
To request a profession change offline, follow these instructions:
- Download the application form.
- Fill out the form with the necessary information.
- Attach the documents listed in the ‘Documents required for profession change’ section.
- Submit the form and supporting documents.
What happens when all the information for profession change is submitted
Once you have submitted the application form and supporting documents, you will receive a text message on the mobile number provided with the request number and the requested data. You will also receive a similar message for your records.
After the application and supporting documents have been successfully submitted, they will be reviewed by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) in accordance with their established procedures. Any required actions will be taken based on the data provided and documents attached.
You will be informed of the status of your request via a text message. If the application is approved, you will receive a notification. Similarly, if the application is rejected or requires further action, you will be notified via a text message.
If your application is approved, your current employer will be notified of the profession change. After that, you must complete the process by following up with the Ministry of Interior, specifically the General Directorate of Nationality, Ports and Expatriate Affairs, to have a new QID printed out reflecting the profession change.
In case further action is required on your request, you will receive a text message asking you to modify the request or submit documents that were not attached to the application.
