Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber is worth $285 million. Since being discovered on YouTube, he has sold over 150 million records worldwide. From all sources of income, Justin easily brings in $60-80 million annually as a touring artist.

Early Life

The Canadian singer-songwriter was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario. He was raised by his maternal grandmother and stepfather because his parents were never married and his mother was underage at the time of his birth. As a child, he learned to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. After finishing St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford, Ontario, he graduated in 2012.

Breakthrough

Scooter Braun accidentally stumbled onto Bieber’s 2007 video while searching for the videos of another singer. In response to what he saw, he tracked down Bieber and convinced his mother to let him record demo tapes for Bieber in Atlanta. Bieber sang for R&B singer Usher a week after arriving in Atlanta.

Due to his contract with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, he auditioned at Island Def Jam Music Group. As soon as Bieber signed with Island Records, he moved to Atlanta with his mother to work with Braun and Usher. In 2008, Braun became Bieber’s manager.

As part of his debut album, Bieber released “My World” and “My World 2.0”. In addition to performing on “The Today Show,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Good Morning America,” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” he has also appeared on several other live shows. The album sold more than one million units in less than two months in the US alone. To date, that album is 5x platinum-certified by the RIAA.

After releasing “Under the Mistletoe” in October 2011, “Believe” in June 2012, and “Believe Acoustic” in January 2013, “Believe” was released in October 2013. Jonathan M. Chu also directed Justin Bieber’s Believe, the follow-up to his first film. In 2016, Grammy Award winner “Where Are Ü Now” won Best Dance Recording. He set a Guinness World Record when his single, “What Do You Mean” from his album “Purpose” (November 2015) debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the young age of 15. On February 14, 2020, Changes, his follow-up album, was released.

Personal Life

In December 2010, Justin Bieber began dating actor and singer Selena Gomez. They were in an on-and-off relationship until March 2018. After briefly dating Hailey Baldwin between December 2015 and January 2016, Bieber reconciled with Gomez in May 2018. They got engaged in July 2018 and married on September 30, 2019.

Despite his extraordinary success in the music industry, he has been involved in plenty of scandals in the press, like many young celebrities. At the time of the arrest, he was also showing erratic behaviour, and his popularity briefly dipped as a result.
