$285 Million
Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber is worth $285 million. Since being discovered on YouTube, he has sold over 150 million records worldwide. From all sources of income, Justin easily brings in $60-80 million annually as a touring artist.
Early Life
The Canadian singer-songwriter was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario. He was raised by his maternal grandmother and stepfather because his parents were never married and his mother was underage at the time of his birth. As a child, he learned to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. After finishing St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford, Ontario, he graduated in 2012.
Breakthrough
Scooter Braun accidentally stumbled onto Bieber’s 2007 video while searching for the videos of another singer. In response to what he saw, he tracked down Bieber and convinced his mother to let him record demo tapes for Bieber in Atlanta. Bieber sang for R&B singer Usher a week after arriving in Atlanta.
Due to his contract with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, he auditioned at Island Def Jam Music Group. As soon as Bieber signed with Island Records, he moved to Atlanta with his mother to work with Braun and Usher. In 2008, Braun became Bieber’s manager.
As part of his debut album, Bieber released “My World” and “My World 2.0”. In addition to performing on “The Today Show,” “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Good Morning America,” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” he has also appeared on several other live shows. The album sold more than one million units in less than two months in the US alone. To date, that album is 5x platinum-certified by the RIAA.
