For a road trip from Qatar to Saudi Arabia, you’ll need the following documents:
- QID (Qatar Identification Document)
- Passport

Tourist Visa Application:
Online Application:
GCC residents can apply for the Tourist Visa (e-visa) online through Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. Confirm eligibility on the Visit Saudi website.

Application via Tasheer Visa Center:
For assistance, visit the Tasheer Visa Center at Ezdan Mall Gharaffa. Required documents include the original passport, a recent photograph, and a copy of the valid Qatar ID.
- Visa Fee: Approximately QR 522 for a tourist visa (inclusive of various fees). Additional charges apply for lounge service.

Re-entering Qatar:
- If you are a Qatari resident or citizen entering back into Qatar from Saudi Arabia via the Abu Samra border, the only procedure you will have is the scanning of your Qatar ID and passport.
- If you are a visitor to Qatar and on any of the visitor visa types, you will be required to go through the immigration procedure at the Abu Samra border.

- Travel Time: The journey from Doha to cross the Abu Samra border is approximately 7 hours (duration may vary).
- Currency: Payments made at the Abu Samra border can be done using Qatari credit/debit cards or Qatari Riyals.
- Fuel Cost: The fuel cost for the whole journey can range between QR 150 – QR 200 (subjective to the vehicle).
Petrol Stations:
- A Woqod petrol station can be found approximately 1 km before reaching the Abu Samra border. This is the last fuel station before reaching the border, where you can also find refreshments and eateries. The station has designated prayer rooms and toilets.
- Once you have crossed the Abu Samra border and entered Saudi Arabia, you should be able to find a petrol station approximately 15 kilometers away.
