There have been claims of users successfully making phone calls through WhatsApp, although these reports have not been verified.
WhatsApp calls are banned in UAE
Although there has been no official statement, there have been frequent discussions about lifting the prohibition on VoIP services in Dubai.
Despite the ban on WhatsApp and other similar services, Dubai inhabitants still have access to alternative apps that enable them to make internet calls.
