Saudi Arabia is strictly adhering to the guidelines and principles of Saudi religion and culture and anything contradict with it would be banned. Hence, Saudi Arabian Government banned the list of 50 baby names and recommended not used for calling anybody in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabian Civil Status Government department had announced that few names and social tradition in the kingdom of Saudi are not inline therefore those names were banned and few other names were banned due to religious implications.
The reason for banned of names are not clearly given for all the names. However, according to Ministry of KSA, few names are foreign and do not in line with Saudi Culture. Some other names irreverent because it has royal connotations. Name such as Alice, Linda and Elaine are not allowed anymore.
