The Oman National Transport Company, the National Ferry Company, Oman Post, and the Oman International Maritime College all provide public services. Where these institutions provide a variety of essential services with national implications that promote the country’s growth and development, management, and long-term viability.

Public Transportation Service in oman
Since its beginning in 1972, the Oman National Transport Company (Mwasalat) has been developing a world-class local interconnection network for the Omani national public transportation sector and is a permanent member of the International Association of Public Transport.
It also has a fleet of around 500 minibusses, ground buses, long-distance buses, and luxury buses, which it operates directly by running the public bus network in Muscat and other cities, as well as leasing contract buses to schools and businesses. It is currently extending its company by providing a taxi service that will run at airports and retail centers, as well as private transportation on demand.
The National Ferry Company
The National Ferries Company has been providing safe and efficient sea transportation along with the Sultanate of Oman’s 3,165 KM long coast since its inception in 2008. The company operates an eight-ferry fleet that connects Musandam’s three ports (Khasab, Lima, and Dibba) with Muscat and Shinas. It also provides transportation between the Omani mainland and Masirah Island.
Oman International Maritime College
The International Maritime College of Oman is a specialist training college for the maritime, logistics, and petrochemical sectors, and is located in the port of Sohar. Undergraduate and diploma programs, as well as short courses and business training, are available at the college.
It also provides specialized ships and logistic simulators for students to receive hands-on instruction from qualified trainers under the course objectives and training requirements. Training sessions are delivered at the Sohar College campus or a client-specified location. Employees of the Oman Shipping Company and the National Ferry Company received instruction from the college.
