Birth Certificate in Qatar

It is very essential to register your child birth and get the identification number. MOPH Qatar will issue birth certificate to the children in Qatar. It is the duty of the expatriate parents to register their child birth in their country embassy

Avail a birth certificate in Qatar one should follow the below procedures.

Is Prior Appointment required for Registering Birth?

Yes, Contact the Birth registration Office to get a advance appointment in public and private hospitals between 9.30 am to 12.00 pm. This came in force from 26th April 2020 as precautionary steps to contain the spread of COVID-19.

What documents should I Submit?

In order to get a birth certificate you have to submit below mentioned documents.

1. Child born to Qatari parents – Born in Qatar

Qatari Father + Qatari Mother

  • Original QID of husband and wife plus photo copy of each ID
  • Photo Copy of Marriage Certificate
  • Original Vaccination Card plus Photo Copy and Notification of Live Birth

Qatari Father + Non-Qatari Mother

  • Original QID of husband and wife plus photo copy of each ID
  • Original and Photo copy of Wife’s passport (Residence Permit or Entry Visa for non-GCC citizens should be attached).
  • Photo Copy of Marriage Certificate
  • Marriage Approval by MOI Qatar for Non-GCC Citizens
  • Original Vaccination Card plus Photo Copy and Notification of Live Birth

2. Child born to Qatari parents – Born in Abroad.

  • Original QID of husband and wife plus Photo copy of each
  • Original and Photo Copy of wife’s passport (Residence Permit or Entry Visa for non-GCC citizens should be attached)
  • Photo Copy of Marriage Certificate
  • Marriage Approval by MOI Qatar for Non-GCC Citizens.
  • Original Child Birth Certificate (authenticated from country of birth)
  • Exit-Entry Permit
  • Blood group

3. The Child born to Foreign Nationals – Born in Qatar

  • Original valid passport of husband and wife and Photocopy of each
  • Valid residence permit or QID (or Entry Visa for non-residents)
  • Original Vaccination Card + Copy + Notification of Live Birth
  • Photo Copy of Marriage Certificate

What are the steps to follow?

To get the service, the below mentioned steps need to follow:

  1. Getting Advance appointment is mandatory. Everyone should strictly follow the time sense and appear there as per the allotted time slots. In case if you meet non-compliance with the time you may take new appointment.
  2. Before the appointment is scheduled one should fill out the Notification and registration form of Newborn Child.
  3. Attach all required documents, (a completed list of documents is attached).
  4. Paying the Birth Certificate charges i.e. 20QAR
