Dubai residents can anticipate enjoying yet another extended break, spanning at least five days, for the upcoming Eid Al Adha festivities, expected to commence on Monday, June 17. The Emirates Astronomical Society has disclosed that Arafa Day, a significant component of the Hajj pilgrimage, will be observed on Sunday, June 16, marking the commencement of the celebrations.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, has affirmed through astronomical calculations that Eid Al Adha is likely to fall on June 17, with Arafa Day preceding it on June 16. Additionally, he noted that the final of the three Tashreeq days, which extend the Eid revelry and signify the conclusion of the Hajj season, is anticipated to fall on Thursday, June 20.
The UAE Cabinet has already sanctioned a four-day public holiday from June 16 to June 19, encompassing Arafa Day and Eid Al Adha, collectively recognized as the Feast of Sacrifice. This period holds immense significance in the Islamic calendar, observed with special prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.
