The penalties for individuals who engage in organized begging operations with two or more people were clarified by the UAE Public Prosecution on Saturday. Those found guilty will be subject to a minimum jail sentence of six months and a minimum fine of Dh100,000.

Anyone who recruits individuals to be used in organized begging in the UAE will face the same penalty as those who run such operations.

Article No. 476 of the Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021, also known as the Law of Crimes and Penalties, stipulates that an individual who oversees an organized begging operation involving two or more people may face a maximum prison sentence of six months and a fine not exceeding Dh100,000.

The Public Prosecution is making a consistent effort to improve the legal knowledge of the community and keep them informed about the most recent laws in the country, as demonstrated by these posts.
