Have you visited the Box Park in Doha which is located at the old Doha Port. It is the newest destination in Qatar and being quite popular. It is made of colourful recycled containers which are very scenic to see. Here we’re giving you the sneak peak of this park.
Shops and dining
As you first enter, you’ll see beautifully coloured shipping containers. These are recycled and allocated for commercial and retail spaces. There are coffee shop, small grocery store, retail shop, dining outlets and offices that are made of refitted shipping containers.
Azure Supermarket, Rasen Diving, Empire Coffee, International Spearfishing Academy, Qatar International Tours, Bahr Senyar, Professional Marine Upholstery, Abe’s Gulf Marine Services, Tea Time, Majesty Marine, QTR Fish, and Speed Marine are some of the companies that already have signage and operating. From elevator to food trucks, you will find everything here housed in a shipping container. You can find three food trucks that are Simit Sarayi, Chapati & Karak, and Basta. These colourful walls/warehouses are best place to take pictures in front of. Apart from these, there are also artsy walls to take photo with. Though this park has not completed yet, but it will surely be a great place for tourists and residents in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 when completed.
Enjoy amazing views of Doha
You can see the scenic views of marina, Doha skyline, Ras Abu Aboud, Museum of Islamic Park, and National Museum of Qatar. For the best views and perfect photo spot, go up to the upper floor.
Other facilities
There are lot of amenities such sitting areas, toilets, a shower area, and a praying room. There are wooden tables and chairs for you to take some rest. Other than this, there’s huge area for parking. There’s also a wide green space on the other side of the road which has not completed yet. Some areas such as exercise equipment are closed due the restrictions of COVID-19.
