Purple Island
Purple Island is a beautiful green destination in Al Khor for all the nature lovers. Here, you can find mangroves, crabs, little fish, and migratory birds like flamingos and herons. Main highlight here is a wooden bridge that passes through the water channels. You can also do kayaking here which you need to book in advance. It is a must visit place to explore the natural heritage of the Island.

Al Thakira Mangroves
Al Thakira Mangroves is the oldest and largest natural site in the country. Al Thakira comes from an Arabic word that means ‘ammunition’ in English. It is famous for its beach and the natural greenery created by the mangroves. People love to do kayaking here to explore, but you need to book in advance.

Al Farkiah Beach
Al Farkiah is a perfect BBQ spot. It is closest beach to the main Al Khor city. This beautiful beach has a number of pergolas; blue waters, golden sand, and a kid’s play area to enjoy your time. Apart from these, there are cafeteria, public toilets and showers at this beach.

Al Bayt Stadium and Al Bayt Stadium Park
The Al Bayt Stadium will host the first opening match of the2022 FIFA World Cup. The design of this stadium is inspired by the’bayt al sha’ar’ (traditional tents) of the Arab nomads. Next to it, there’s Al Bayt Stadium Park which is connected to the stadium. There are plenty of beautiful things to see such as man-made lake, landscape, running tracks, play areas, etc.

Al Khor Mall

Al Khor Hill Park

Al Tawasul Traditional Park

Al Qarma Beach Garden
Al Qarm Beach Garden was inaugurated in 2018. It is located on the east coast of Al Khor City and is only reserved for ladies and children under the age of 10 years. There are lots of trees and plants, wooden umbrellas, play areas, walking paths, benches and solar-powered lighting.

Al Shu’aa Reserve
Al Shu’aa Reserve is especially dedicated to the animals. Kids can learn here about animals and their preservation. Here, you’ll find ducks, tortoises, geese, ostriches, pigeons, goats, rabbits as well as a few Arabian Oryx.

Al Khor Family Park and Zoo
The Al Khor Family Park and Zoo is a perfect picnic destination. It is spreaded in the area of 240,000 square metre with lush green carpet. There’s a mini gym, play areas, museum, skating area, aviary, basketball court, waterfall, mini train, drinking fountain, mosque and an amphitheatre.

Baladna Park
Baladna Park was opened in November 2017. Families can enjoy here different kind of activities together. It is a Baladna farm theme park, you can learn about the Baladna Farm products here. There’s also a Baladna Restaurant on the premises.

Ain Hleetan Well
Ain Hleetan Well is located on Al Khor’ west coast and it is one of the 107 wells and springs in Qatar. The water of this well is believed to have medical properties. Locals call it ‘the doctor’, but Qatar Museums architectural conservation team closely monitored it. Next to the well, there are three Al Khor Towers (built in 1900 on a small hill).
